The Parade
Blog Post 3
There is no other city in the world that I love more than Philly.
When the Eagles won the Super Bowl this year, my immediate thought (other than rushing Broad Street) was of the parade that would follow in the upcoming days. And to absolutely make sure to bring my film camera, of course.
I knew on the day of the parade that I would need to be extra-cautious in protecting my camera from being damaged. Regardless of my concern, I still managed to break off a part of my camera’s lens and didn’t realize this until about another month when I heard a rattle come from it. I find this funny now; maybe not as much when the actual realization happened… you might even be able to see the part that broke off as a curved “C” within these photos!
This was my first time capturing moving objects, and I truly couldn’t have been any more excited when standing in the cold with my friends. In fact, I probably ended up getting a little too excited when the parade itself started - each photo you see below is probably one of three very identical shots (with the other two photos just not being shared). But hey - I’m a beginner, right? Beginning means the beginning of learning - even an expert should always be learning - so maybe it was all par for the course? Anyway, I feel like the photos can do the rest of the talking here… so please enjoy!
And, as always, go Birds.
